The countdown is on! With the Adrenaline RC Invitational just days away, our team has been hard at work prepping both the indoor and outdoor tracks, cleaning the facility, and making sure everything is ready for an unforgettable weekend of racing. While the final touches are still underway, Jacob took a break to give everyone a sneak peek at one of the star attractions: the brand-new indoor 1/10th scale track layout.
This layout will host the 1/10th program all weekend long—and in case of weather issues, it’s also ready to serve as the backup track for 1/8th scale. Fortunately, the forecast is looking great, so racers can expect to enjoy this fresh build without a hitch.
Opening Straight & Step-On/Step-Off Feature
The lap begins with a high-speed front straightaway leading directly into a massive feature: a step-on, step-off that spans nearly the entire length of the building. It’s been years since we’ve seen a proper step-on/step-off at Adrenaline, and this one is built for speed and airtime. Racers will launch onto a tabletop, step off onto another, and carry serious momentum through this section.
Tabletop Variations & Bank Drop Options
From there, drivers will encounter a tabletop double that can be taken in multiple ways. A clever design element retains a portion of the old bank, creating strategic choices:
-
Ride high on the bank for a smoother transition, or
-
Stay tight and low for a bigger drop and a more aggressive setup into the next jump.
This variability means line choice could be the difference between maintaining control or over-jumping into trouble.
Technical Switchbacks & Rollers
The lap continues into a tabletop double and then straight into a technical switchback section. Clean, precise driving will be essential here, as any mistake could cost time before entering the roller.
That roller adds another layer of complexity—hit it with too much speed and your car will float, making the following corner difficult to set up. Nail it right, and you’ll carry momentum cleanly into the next challenge.
The Skip Double Returns
A fan-favorite feature, the skip double, makes its return—this time perfected. The smaller skip allows racers to attack the huge takeoff that follows. The massive lander provides plenty of space to settle the car and prepare for the final sector, rewarding bravery while punishing poor throttle control.
Final Chicane & High-Speed Sweeper
The track closes with a tight chicane that forces accuracy, especially for the 1/8th scale cars if they’re called inside. Exit that cleanly, and you’ll carry speed into a fast, sweeping corner before rejoining the front straight to complete the lap.
Hidden AR Twist
From the driver’s stand, a hidden detail becomes clear: the track layout actually forms the letters “A” and “R”—a subtle nod to Adrenaline RC. It’s a creative touch that makes this year’s layout even more special and symbolic of the Invitational.
Final Thoughts
This year’s indoor layout promises big air, fast lines, and technical decision-making. From the giant step-on/step-off to the perfected skip double and tight chicane, it’s designed to push racers’ skills and deliver plenty of action for spectators.
We can’t wait to see drivers hit the track later this week. Stay tuned for Part 2 of our Track Walk, where Jacob will showcase the outdoor track built by Lee Setser. Together, these layouts will set the stage for one of the biggest and most exciting weekends of RC racing all year.
