The IC5 connector integrates a data transfer wire that communicates directly with compatible Spektrum Smart chargers — uploading the battery's unique parameters automatically so charging is as simple as plugging in and pressing start.
Smart technology goes well beyond convenience. An integrated microchip stores and continuously updates critical battery data including cell voltage, temperature, charge and discharge cycle counts, internal resistance, and C rating. It also maintains an error log tracking overcharge, over-discharge, and overtemperature events, giving you a clear picture of your pack's health before every run. Smart Discharge automatically brings the pack down to your preset storage voltage after a programmable rest period of 12 to 240 hours — protecting cell chemistry and extending the overall life of the battery without any manual intervention. Charge rate settings are user-customizable and remembered by the microchip, so your preferred setup loads automatically every time the pack is connected to a Smart charger.
