The HobbyZone AeroScout S 2 1.1m RTF Basic is the most complete and beginner-friendly RC airplane package available — everything you need to start flying is included in one box, except for a battery and charger. Built around the same proven AeroScout S 2 airframe and exclusive SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology as the BNF version, the RTF Basic adds the Spektrum DXS 2.4GHz DSMX transmitter and a full copy of RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator software — giving new pilots the ability to practice flying at home on a PC before ever taking to the sky. Simply connect the DXS transmitter to your computer via USB-C and fly the AeroScout S 2 1.1m virtually, complete with built-in Virtual Flight Instructor lessons, multiplayer options, wind simulation, float flying, and nearly two dozen Skill Level 2 aircraft to unlock as your skills grow. When you're ready for the real thing, the DXS transmitter doubles as your flight controller — and can continue to be used with a wide range of BNF Basic aircraft after you've mastered the AeroScout.

In the air, exclusive SAFE technology keeps the learning curve manageable with three switchable flight modes. Beginner Mode limits pitch and bank angles and automatically returns the plane to level flight when you release the sticks — letting new pilots focus on steering rather than recovering. Intermediate Mode opens up tighter turns and faster climbs as confidence builds, and Experienced Mode removes all angle limits for full aerobatic capability including loops, rolls, and inverted flight. If things get away from you in Intermediate or Experienced mode, Panic Recovery instantly brings the plane back to stable level flight at the push of a button. The factory-installed Spektrum AR631+ receiver is pre-loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) for automatic settings import with NX and iX series transmitters, while the Spektrum Avian 30A Smart Lite ESC delivers real-time telemetry data — motor RPM, current, and battery voltage — to compatible AirWare-equipped transmitters and approximate battery power remaining via the DXS transmitter's LED indicators. The unique pusher power configuration protects the motor and propeller, the reinforced EPO airframe soaks up the bumps of learning, and wide-stance tricycle landing gear with oversized tires handles grass, pavement, and dirt fields with ease. Optional floats (HBZ3811, sold separately) add water flying capability when you're ready.
