Welcome back to the Adrenaline RC YouTube channel! In this episode, Jacob takes us through the next big step in our TLR Tuned Typhon speed build—getting all the electronics installed so we can hit the track.
If you missed Episode 1, we kicked things off with the base build. Today, it’s all about power, control, and making sure everything is cleanly wired and ready for action.
The Electronics Lineup
Here’s what’s going under the hood of the Typhon:
-
Motor: Tekin T8 Gen 3 2000KV or Tekin 1900KV Motor
-
Receiver & Transponder: Sanwa Receiver (only if you have a Sanwa Radio) + existing transponder
-
Servo: USRC high-performance servo (our in-house brand)
-
Battery: Protek 6500mAh 4S
-
Cooling: Protek Fan + Exotek fan mount for optimal airflow
-
Pinion Gear: Tekno 17T Pinion Gear
This mix gives us plenty of power for high speeds while keeping control and cooling in check.
The Install Process
Jacob started with the ESC, carefully soldering up the wires and planning the layout to keep everything neat. He’s a stickler for a clean wire job (and who isn’t?), so wire routing was top priority.
Next up—the motor install. After unboxing that fresh Tekin T8 Gen 3, Jacob test-fit the fan mount to decide wire positioning. The goal? Make soldering easier while keeping airflow unobstructed. The fan ultimately found its home mounted to the side, with plans to trim for even better ventilation.
The servo install came next. A quick check revealed the need for a different servo horn, but once swapped, the servo was bolted in and wired neatly under the tray.
Final Assembly & Wiring
With the big components mounted, it was time to tie everything together:
-
Motor and ESC wires soldered for solid connections
-
Receiver and transponder mounted inside the box
-
Wires folded and tucked for a professional look
-
Fan power routed for a clean finish
After double-checking connections, Jacob moved on to the moment of truth—the first power-up. Steering? Check. Fans? Spinning. Everything worked perfectly on the first try.
Next Steps
With electronics installed and tested, the Typhon is officially track-ready. In Episode 3, we’ll center the steering, set base settings, and take it out for the first test runs.
This build is coming together exactly as planned—smooth, clean, and ready to push for speed.
