Purchased these so I could have a hole-less lexan body for my 1/10 Rally car. I appreciate that the height, angle, and distance from the mounting pole is all adjustable. The angle comes is needed for the hood of touring cars.
The magnets are strong, I stick them to the body using 3M VHB tape, which seems strong enough to hold against the magnetic pull.
The one downside is the screws: I don't feel like they have much friction in the thread, and I'm worried that they'll loosen at some point, so I've added a little Loctite. At least if the philips-head screws loosen, the arms will not travel any farther upward so it won't result in body rattling. I put body shell clips on the mount pole above and below, locking in the mount so if the grub screws loosen, the mount won't move up or down.
I think this should hold up nicely since my rally car won't be taking any big jumps or potholes, but I would not recommend it for stadium/short course/monster trucks.
