At Adrenaline RC Racing, we love seeing innovation that makes RC drifting more accessible, fun, and rewarding for everyone — from newcomers to seasoned drivers. In our latest video, Colin sat down with Rudy from Bingo RC Designs to take an in-depth look at their newest creation: the Bingo Hachi Drift Kit.
This kit isn’t just another addition to the drift scene — it’s a reimagining of what a drift car can be: simple to build, easy to drive, and packed with thoughtful engineering.
The Story Behind the Hachi
The Hachi’s origin comes from Rudy’s years of helping new drivers at the track. He noticed many beginners struggling with setup and maintenance — cars that didn’t drive straight, suspension that was off, or geometry that just didn’t feel right.
“I really wanted to create something that newer drivers could drive easily, grow with, and improve their skills,” Rudy shared.
That idea sparked the development of a car that would be simple to assemble, forgiving to drive, and mechanically reliable — all while retaining the excitement of a true drift chassis.
The name “Hachi” (Japanese for bee or eight) fits right in with Bingo RC’s signature insect-inspired theme and adds a touch of Japanese culture that drifters everywhere can appreciate.
What Makes the Hachi Different
From the first glance, the Hachi stands out. It breaks from the traditional drift kit design in several smart ways:
1. Fixed Rear Axle
The Hachi’s solid rear axle — inspired by fixed-axle crawler conversions — provides stable, predictable handling. Both rear wheels are locked together, helping drivers achieve smooth transitions and fast reactions on the track.
2. Carbon Flex Rear Suspension
Instead of traditional oil shocks, the rear of the car relies on carbon flexing for suspension. This clever design reduces parts count and maintenance while maintaining consistent traction and control.
A custom TPU (rubberized plastic) spring helps manage damping — no oil, no rebuilds, and no fuss.
3. Simplified Front End Design
The front suspension eliminates complex toe blocks and shims. Instead, it uses TPU hinge arms for durability and a bit of natural flex. The result? A responsive yet forgiving steering feel with far less complexity during assembly or maintenance.
4. Adjustable Motor Mounting System
Rudy also tackled one of the biggest frustrations in RC builds — motor mesh adjustments. The Hachi features an alignment slide plate with precision set screws that allow builders to fine-tune gear mesh easily and securely.
Perfect for Beginners — Fun for Experts
While designed with newcomers in mind, the Hachi has proven itself on the track. Experienced drivers have already taken early prototypes to the podium, finishing top three in local competitions.
The kit’s predictable handling, easy transitions, and light maintenance make it ideal for anyone who wants to focus more on driving and less on wrenching.
“Both beginner and experienced drivers have a blast with this car,” Rudy noted. “It’s stable, quick, and transitions effortlessly.”
Build Simplicity and Compatibility
The Hachi is designed to be built in under two hours — or about an hour for experienced builders. There are no shocks to bleed, no complex bellcranks to adjust, and minimal hardware overall.
Despite its simplicity, it’s also highly modular and upgradable:
-
Compatible with Yokomo YD2, RevD RDX, Rhino Shark DDSS, and other front-end setups via the Hachi CF (Custom Front) chassis plate.
-
Supports Bingo RC’s carbon fiber upgrades like bumpers, battery trays, and even a high-CG battery mount for drivers who prefer more weight transfer.
-
Optional motor fan mount integrates directly onto the slide plate for easy cooling upgrades.
Availability and Future Plans
The first batch of Bingo Hachi Drift Kits will be available in late September, with wider availability through October. Pre-orders are already open at Adrenaline RC Racing and select dealers.
Rudy also hinted at future developments — including a ready-to-run version and more weight-shift and performance upgrades later this year.
Final Thoughts
The Bingo RC Hachi Drift Kit is shaping up to be one of the most exciting new platforms in RC drifting. Its unique mix of simplicity, innovation, and driving performance bridges the gap between entry-level and competition-grade builds.
Whether you’re a newcomer looking for your first drift kit or a veteran drifter seeking something fresh and fun — the Hachi is worth your attention.
