Bluetooth connectivity keeps everything live and accessible from your phone without requiring an internet connection, and OTA wireless updates continuously add new features and optimizations to keep the system current.
Precision starts with the hardware. Industrial-grade high-sensitivity IR sensors in the T01 transponder and decoder deliver fast, accurate, and reliable lap detection across a 3–10 meter range — covering the vast majority of RC track layouts. The included magnetic sun visor minimizes direct sunlight interference for reliable outdoor operation, and high-visibility LEDs provide instant status feedback through a connection indicator and lap-detection flash. The tripod keeps the decoder positioned precisely and consistently at trackside.
The LapWiz Performance Dashboard gives racers a complete view of each session — best lap, average lap, forecast, lap history, and the standout Shadow Run feature that lets you race against your own previous best or a saved session with real-time lap delta feedback for targeted improvement. Multi-car timing with transponder ID management handled directly through the app lets you assign driver profiles, match cars to racers, and organize races from a single smartphone. Race ID QR codes allow instant event entry, and wireless casting via AirPlay, Apple TV, or Android screen casting brings live timing and rankings to a larger display for spectators and club events. With approximately 300 hours of battery life on two AA batteries, the decoder is ready for extended track days and club seasons.
