Castle Creations CapPack Capacitor Pack
Smooth out the voltage ripple that punishes your ESC. The Castle Creations CapPack is an add-on capacitor pack for any brushless application, giving the boost needed to overcome battery voltage ripple caused by hard acceleration or long battery wires. Ripple voltage is hard on an ESC, and adding a CapPack helps reduce the load on the controller’s on-board capacitors. It’s a simple, effective way to protect your electronics in demanding setups.
Installation is quick. Cut the soft silicone insulation on the battery wires as close to the ESC as possible, lay the exposed wires into the channels on the CapPack’s posts, check polarity, and solder. Included heat shrink finishes the job for a clean, professional install. Multiple CapPacks can be used in a single application, as long as each is installed as close to the ESC as possible.

Helis: Highly recommended for 500 class and larger helis, where Y harnesses and long wires can bleed voltage and hard collective pulls strain even strong batteries.

Cars/Trucks: Going from 0 to 100% throttle puts huge loads on brushless power systems. The CapPack helps your system power through the abuse.

Aircraft: Larger power systems can put distance between the battery and ESC, adding wire and inductance that increase ripple. The CapPack offsets the ripple from adding up to 8 inches of battery wire.

Ripple Voltage Guidance:
Castle controllers with data logging can report the ripple voltage they see in use. Ripple voltage peaks should always stay below 10% of total pack voltage, and the lower the better. If your application exceeds 10% under peak load, consider higher C-rating batteries, shorter wires, higher-current connectors, better gearing, or a smaller load.
