What’s up everybody! Jacob Hardison here with a closer look at the brand-new Vintage Off-Road Nationals layout at Adrenaline RC. If you love classic off-road RC racing, you’re in for a treat—this year’s track was designed with vintage-style features in mind: rollers, skips, tabletops, and flowing corners that balance fun with technical driving.
Let’s take a lap together!
The Layout Overview
As you step onto the track, you’re greeted by a fresh layout that runs in the same direction as last year but with its own unique character. The surface has been shaped to blend the smooth feel of a modern build with the slightly less refined, bumpy texture of a vintage track—bringing that old-school flavor back to life.
From the driver’s stand, you’ll see a balanced course that emphasizes flow, corner speed, and smart lines. Here’s what to expect as you drive it:
Key Features
Opening Roller & Off-Camber Corner
The first feature is a welcoming roller—about two feet tall—that gives you a little air without getting wild. From there, you’ll flow into an off-camber 180° corner, stretched out from last year’s design. The inside line is the shortest but trickiest, while the outer lanes give a safer run with more forgiveness.
Tabletop & Sweeping Bank
Next up is a smooth tabletop jump, perfect for carrying momentum without punishing mistakes. You’ll drop down into a sweeping banked turn that can be attacked two ways: hug the tight low line or stay wide and slingshot through with speed.
Triple Skips (Ski Jumps)
Following the bank are the triple skips—a fun section of evenly spaced rollers that reward rhythm. Some are a little tighter than others, but either way, you’ll need good throttle control to clear them consistently.
Big Tabletop & Alternator Section
After climbing a gradual incline, you’ll hit the big tabletop—the centerpiece of the track. Dropping off leads you into the alternator section, this year expanded to five bumps (three on the left, two on the right). Drivers will have plenty of line choices here, from tight inside hops to wide, speed-carrying jumps.
Switchbacks & Final Roller
Out of the alternator comes a switchback sequence over two small rollers, testing patience and setup balance. That flows into a high-speed straightaway capped with a final roller at the far end of the track. From there, it’s all-out down the grid and back to the start.
Vintage Feel, Modern Fun
This year’s track was intentionally designed to keep the vintage racing vibe alive. By blending smooth sections with slightly rougher, less refined features, drivers get the best of both worlds—modern drivability with the character of classic off-road.
Jacob describes it best:
“Nothing here is ultra crazy, but the mix of rollers, banks, skips, and tabletops gives that authentic vintage style while still making for fun and competitive racing.”
See It in Action
Drivers will hit the track for the first time Thursday of race week, kicking off what promises to be another unforgettable Vintage Off-Road Nationals. With last year setting the bar high, 2025 is shaping up to be even better—more racing, more laughs, and more vintage RC action.
We can’t wait to see you out there.
